BlackBerry PlayBook App Development in New RIM Webcast
Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion seems determined to have as many applications as possible available for the launch of its newly unveiled BlackBerry PlayBook tablet PC, and the company has just announced plans to unveil more info on what building apps for the tablet PC is all about in a webcast today
The new “Develop for the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe AIR” webcast is aimed mainly at offering developers the possibility to learn some more info on what installing the SDK and coming up with applications for the slate involve.
“We’ll have both Research In Motion (RIM) and Adobe experts on hand to take you through the process and answer your questions during our Q&A period,” a recent post on the company's blog reads.
According to the blog, Prosanta Bhattacherjee, Application Development Consultant, Research In Motion Limited, and Renaun Erickson, Adobe Developer Evangelist, Adobe Systems Incorporated, will be there to talk about app development for the PlayBook.
At the same time, the blog post notes that this is only the first webcast from five-week series aimed at enabling developers to come up with compelling applications for the new platform.
The plan is to cover new things each and every week, and more advanced topics will be covered as things move forward.
The Canadian mobile phone maker also announced not too long ago that developers who get their PlayBook apps approved for the Blackberry App World before the tablet PC becomes official are eligible for a free BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
The webcast is aimed both at ramping up the development of applications for the new device, as well as at enabling more developers to benefit from the aforementioned offer.
“Our goal is to make the development process as easy as possible, so you can qualify for the free BlackBerry PlayBook tablet offer,” the said blog post continues.
