Apple as a Brand

There are some companies which appeal to every generation and every member of society. Apple is one such company. Established in 1976 in California the company was started by Steve Jobs, Steve Woznaik and Ronald Wayne. Wayne later left the business, before millionaire Mike Markkula helped the company get off the ground. The company has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and the brand is now recognised all over the world. With loyal fans and a concrete brand identity there are few companies out there which present a life-style as well as Apple's products.

The brand has an appeal that is universal, due to its simplicity and user friendly nature, the company's products can be used by both the young and the not so young. With the recent introduction of the iPad the versatility of the products has increased ten-fold. The company now has every angle covered, from phone to tablet to computer. The Apple brand has now taken over every aspect of the technology world.

Part of the attraction to the brand is the design, which echoes the simplicity of the user interface. The design also helps brand identity and any product designed by the company follows the same aesthetic value. Any product designed by the company is simple to use and accessible to any generation, attracting admiring glances from everyone who lays eyes on the products.

But Apple has not always been so successful, which is hard to believe. The first few products released by Apple were unsuccessful although they experienced a high point in 1989 to 1991 the products first released were expensive compared to the alternatives on the market. In 1998 the company came to the forefront of the technology world and created the iMac.

The amount of success the company has seen in recent years was categorised in July this year, when the media reported that the company had more ready cash than the United States government. With products being reviewed and updated every year the company provides an up-to-date and modern take on the problems that face the technology users of today.

Apple has a large share of the smart phone market and most people, I would say, own or have owned a piece of Apple technology.

They have produced music players, online music stores, computers, laptops and much more. As a company they are unique. Their well thought out design, branding and products never disappoints. They are a marketing machine and the unveiling of the Apple goods has everyone on tenterhooks for weeks.
