Bill Gates Too Is Richer Than The U.S. Government

Two days ago we reported that Apple is richer that the U.S. Government. Now we know that Bill Gates too has more money to spend than the U.S. Federal Government.

The Federal government now has only $54 billion in cash in the bank.
That’s $2 billion less than the net worth of Bill Gates, as frequent BI commenter @ComfortablySmug points out on Twitter.
Ouch.
People had been writing that the US’s cash balance had gotten so bad that it was less than some companies. Now it’s so bad that it’s less than some people.
Terrible, terrible. It just goes to show that Congress needs to get its act together now and raise the debt ceiling.
This was reported by Business Insider.
The U.S. Government now under a $14 trillion debt which means that any humble person is technically “richer” than the US government.
Now the gab between Apple’s cash reserves and the operating balance of the US government has grown from $2 billion to $21 billion. Actually Google will be richer that the U.S. government if this decrease of  the operating balance keeps on increasing.
