Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is all action packed for the family

Lego has the ability of releasing games based on famous characters and movies that grapple the interest of both fanatics and indifferent people. Whether you have or have not watched the eponymous trilogy, the game will definitely tell you the story; and that too in a way, where you yourself uncover every scene and action.

The game is based on the television series of Star Wars, Clone Wars. However characters from the original movies also appear in the game. The game features both single player and multiplayer. The single player mode features different playable characters for different scenes. The player has to fight battles and solve puzzles among other tasks. The game contains twenty story based missions as well as forty bonus missions. And despite the endless number of missions in the game, Lego still maintains the humor that it so perfectly displays in the plots of all their games. Clone Wars also gives gamers the opportunity to try out their own real time strategies during the game in battles where characters command huge battalions.

The game's graphics are quite breathtaking. It is more detailed and multi layered. Game developers have even allowed players to explore the Star Wars universe in a way unlike the other Lego Star Wars games in the past. The highlights of the game are:

• Split Screen: Now in the multiplayer mode, the screen is split so that players can play their respective levels uninterrupted.
• Enormous Battle grounds: Massive battle grounds has increased the capacity of Battalions, and with increased improvements in graphics, the effect of fighting an entire battalion on the battle ground in the same screen is magnanimous.
• Scene Swap: The game allows you to swap scenes in the multiplayer split screen.
• Never before played Boss Battles: Boss battles have become even more challenging, with Boss characters being featured in enormous sizes, thus elevating the level of interest.

The game overall is repetitive. Most of the elements of the previous Lego Star Wars games have been reused again in this game and modified to suit the plot. Hence, the game is not a complete stimulator of excitement. With the numerous missions, the game may even turn out to be dull for the player. However, the graphics are what saves the game from being a complete failure in the series. The 3D effect that it produces is worth playing game for. Star Wars fanatics may be interested to play this new game which has a different approach to the Star Wars story. However, they'll be disappointed to see that the game emphasizes on the action instead of the story elements of the Star Wars saga. While the Lego Star Wars: Clone Wars versions playstation, xbox and Nintendo DS do not fare well in terms of gaming expectation with all the reasons as mentioned above, but the Wii brings some fun while playing the game (especially for kids) as it requires a more active participation in the game.
