1) Release date for iPad 3

2) New display for the iPad 3 or iPad HD

Rumors of the new iPad having a high resolution display seems to be true with news of Apple working with Samsung and LG to develop a screen with higher pixel density.

Apple blogger John Gruber believes that the new iPad will be getting a retina display, which is Apple's super sharp screen that is currently found on Apple's iPhone 4.

What remains unknown, however, is whether Apple will launch a premium version of the iPad 2 i.e. the iPad HD before introducing true retina display on the iPad 3. This will buy apps developer some time to adapt to the higher screen resolution.

3) The iPad 3 will boast a faster A6 processor

The current generation of iPad 2 comes equipped with a dual-core A5 processor. Seeing as how Android tablets are already rocking quad-core processors, it is safe to say that the new iPad 3 will ship with Apple's new and faster A6 processor installed.

4) 3D iPad 3

Some speculate that the new iPad will have a glasses free 3D display similar to that of the Nintendo 3DS. It is highly unlikely that Apple will walk down that path as glasses free 3D technology is still in its infancy. The user not only have to hold the screen at a certain awkward angle, implementing it will harm the iPad's battery life.

5) iPad 3 running on 4G network

Due to battery life concerns, Apple has been slow in adapting 4G technology into it's devices. Still, given the iPad's incredible battery life, there might be a chance that the new iPad will be running on Verizon and AT & T 4G LTE network.

6) iPad 3 Nano

Analysts claim that Apple could launch a 7-inch iPad, pointing to the success of all those 7-inch Android tablets.

It is doubtful that we will see the arrival of an iPad Nano as Steve Jobs himself had scoffed at 7-inch tablets. He says that 7-inch screens are just too small for consumers to use comfortably.

7) Thinner and Lighter iPad 3 casing

Apple is always looking to shave down the weight and thickness of their devices so this is more of a iPad 3 news than rumor.

To get a better idea of the new iPad 3′s design, we will have to wait for the release of the new iPhone 5 as Apple like to sync the design of their devices.
